Information For Parents
Our online booking system will be available soon. In the meantime, you can book by emailing us at info@aquashan.co.uk or calling 07783 797 181 between 9am and 3pm. For emails and any messages left, I will respond within 24 hours. Alternatively, you can fill out the booking form on our website. When emailing to book yourself or your child onto a lesson, please make sure to include the following information:
Your full name
Child's name and Date of birth (your date of birth if the lesson is for yourself)
Address
Phone number
A brief description of your child's swimming ability, or if booking for yourself, your own swimming ability and any medical conditions/allergies.
Once our online booking system is up and running, you'll have the option to add your child to the waiting list directly on our website. In the meantime, please reach out to Shannon via email at info@aquashan.co.uk or by phone at 07783 797 181. We'll make sure to add your child to the waiting list promptly.
Our pool measures 12 meters by 6 meters in size, providing ample space for swimming and lessons. We maintain a comfortably warm temperature between 32 and 34 degrees Celsius for a pleasant swimming experience. Our facility offers excellent changing facilities, showers, and a toilet for your convenience.

Babies
A disposable swim nappy must be worn under a Happy Nappy
The Happy Nappy can be bought on Amazon, with this link.
The Happy Nappy is very important to avoid toileting accidents in the pool. Keeping our pool in top cleanliness is of top priority.
Pre-schoolers
A disposable swim nappy must be worn if still toilet training.
A swim hat is required. If needed swim hats can be bought on poolside. My swim hats are made of nylon fabric rather than silicone, so much easier to put on.
Goggles if needed.

Missed swimming lessons cannot be refunded. However, if a child is unable to swim for a medical reason, such as a broken arm, and you provide a doctor's note, a refund will be issued. If AquaShan Swim School need to close the pool for a specific reason, cancelled lessons will be refunded.
Illnesses and Conditions Policy for Swimming Lessons
To ensure the health and safety of all participants, we have established the following policy regarding illnesses and medical conditions:
General Health Requirements:
- Participants should be in good health to attend swimming lessons. If your child or you are experiencing symptoms of illness, please refrain from attending until fully recovered.
Contagious Illnesses:
- Please do not bring your child or attend lessons if you or your child has a contagious illness, including but not limited to colds, flu, gastrointestinal infections, or skin infections.
- A minimum of 48 hours symptom-free period is required before returning to lessons after a contagious illness.
Medical Conditions:
- If your child or you have a medical condition that may affect participation in swimming lessons, please inform us prior to starting the program. This includes conditions such as asthma, epilepsy, diabetes, or any other condition that requires special attention.
- A doctor's note may be required to confirm that it is safe for the individual to participate in swimming lessons.
Serious Injuries:
- If your child or you sustain a serious injury, such as a broken bone, that impacts the ability to swim, please provide a doctor’s note. Refunds or credits for future lessons will be considered on a case-by-case basis with appropriate medical documentation.
Emergency Procedures:
- In the event of a medical emergency during a lesson, our instructors are trained in first aid and CPR. We will follow emergency protocols to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants.
By adhering to this policy, we aim to provide a safe and healthy environment for everyone involved in our swimming programs. If you have any questions or need further clarification, please do not hesitate to contact us.
No earrings, other jewelry, or watches are all allowed in the pool
Do not eat less than half an hour before swimming
No diving
No running
No shoes on poolside. Pool shoes are permitted e.g., flip flops, sliders.
Please shower and use the toilet before entering the pool
Our swimming courses run for the entire school term, typically lasting 12 to 13 weeks. Fees are to be paid at the beginning of each term or can be split into 3 payments. 1-1 Private lessons can be booked in blocks of 4 or 6. The rates are as follows:
Baby swimming: £18 per lesson
All group classes: £14 per lesson
1-on-1 private lessons: £40 per lesson
Please note that parking is NOT permitted on the Grange estate for swim school customers. The Grange car park is reserved for Grange staff, residents' families, and volunteers only. AquaShan swim school customers can park along Rectory Lane, which offers plenty of parking and is just a short walk to the pool. Please refer to the map below for more details.
